Small business web design for owners who need leads, not decoration

A small business web design company is the search that usually comes after a template site stops bringing in work, and that is the exact moment 2ranq is built for. We build WordPress sites that an owner can run without calling a developer every week. No page builder bloat, no forty plugins, no monthly surprise. Fixed scope, agreed before the first line of code. We work with owners across Europe and the US.

// What you get

What does a small business web design company actually do?

A small business web design company plans, builds and ships the site, then hands over the keys. At 2ranq that means one discovery call, a fixed scope document, design, a WordPress build, content, analytics and search setup, then training so your team can edit pages. Website design for small business is not only visual work: structure, page speed and tracking decide whether the site earns anything. You get one contact who writes the code, not an account manager relaying messages.

Page structure

Every page has one job and one phrase, so your own pages do not compete against each other in search.

A theme built for you

The design is made for your business. No purchased demo content that somebody has to clean out later.

Basic search setup

Titles, meta descriptions, sitemap and schema, set before launch instead of bolted on afterwards.

Analytics that measure

Google Analytics 4 and Search Console, connected and verified, so you can see where enquiries come from.

Enquiry form

Enquiries land in your inbox, with spam protection and a confirmation back to the sender.

SSL and backups

A certificate and regular backups, so restoring the site never depends on luck.

// Pricing

How much does small business website design cost?

Small business website design at 2ranq is quoted per project, not per hour, and the number is fixed before work starts. A five page business site is $967, and each page beyond five is $67. Yearly maintenance is $807 and covers hosting, updates and backups, but it is not mandatory. A store or a booking site costs more, because payments and integrations add work, so it is quoted separately.

The price does not change along the way. A rate that starts with "from" is a rate nobody ever pays; here the number is on the page before the call. If the scope changes, you get a new quote before anyone continues working, not a line on the invoice afterwards. After a 30 minute call you get a quote with exact scope, a deadline and a final figure, and that figure does not move until the scope does.

The business site is $967 for five pages, each additional page is $67. Yearly maintenance is $807 and is not a condition. The maintenance contract runs for one year, is paid yearly in advance, has no notice period and does not renew itself.

// Timeline and process

How long does it take to build a small business website?

Timeline depends on one thing more than any other: how fast content arrives. With copy and images ready, a standard small business site moves through design, build and testing in 7 days. A store or a booking site takes 14 days, depending on the number of products and the payment setup. We do not start design until the sitemap is agreed, because reworking approved pages is what actually blows deadlines. If content is late, the deadline moves and we tell you at once, not on delivery day.

Step 1

Discovery call

Thirty minutes, no charge. We work out what the site has to bring in and who actually uses it.

Step 2

Scope and quote

Fixed price, exact scope and a deadline, in writing, before anyone starts working.

Step 3

Build on staging

You see a live staging URL from day one and comment while the work is happening.

Step 4

Launch and measure

The site goes live, access moves to you, and one month of fixes comes at no charge.

What kind of small business sites have you built?

Real projects, still in production: Mary Jana, a hair cosmetics site and store; Jasmin Adventures, a tour operator where the job was speed, measured through Core Web Vitals; Cvecara Nena, a flower shop with online ordering and delivery. Each one is on WordPress, and the same people who built them would build yours.

// Questions

What else do owners ask before hiring a small business web design company?

Five questions come up on almost every first call: who owns the site, whether the owner can edit it without a developer, who writes the content, why WordPress instead of a hosted builder, and what we need from you to start. The answers below are the same ones you would get on that call, written down so you can compare them before you reply.

Do I own the website when it is finished?

+

Yes. The domain, hosting account, WordPress install, code and database are yours, registered in your name where possible. There is no license you keep paying to keep the site online, and no proprietary builder that locks the design to us. If you move to another agency, they get a standard WordPress site and a handover document, not a puzzle.

Can I edit the site myself after launch?

+

That is the point of building on WordPress. Pages, text, images, blog posts and products are editable from the admin, and you get a walkthrough at handover. Anything structural, like a new template or a custom integration, is where you call us. We do not lock content behind code, because a site the owner cannot update goes stale within a year. If you would rather not touch it, we run maintenance for $807 per year.

Do you write the content, or do I?

+

We write the basic copy from what you give us, and it is included in the build price. You tell us what the business sells, who buys it and what you want a visitor to do; we turn that into the pages. Claims that need professional standing, medical, legal or technical, you approve and sign off, because they are yours to make. If you supply copy and images yourself, the build moves faster. What we will not do is fill the site with placeholder text and call it launched, because empty pages rank for nothing and convert nobody.

Why WordPress and not Wix, Squarespace or Webflow?

+

Because you can leave. WordPress and WooCommerce are open source, so any developer on earth can maintain what we build, and your data is exportable. Hosted builders are faster to start and harder to escape: pricing, features and export are all decided by the vendor. For a small business planning past year one, that dependency is a real risk, not a theoretical one.

What do you need from me to start?

+

Three things: what the business actually sells, who the buyer is, and what a successful site looks like in numbers, for example calls, forms or orders per month. Anything else, including sitemap, design and stack, we propose. If you already have a site, admin and analytics access lets us see what works before we redesign away something that is earning.
